| Skrócony opis: |
Socio-economic statistics is aimed to present methods and tools for analyzing various micro and macro aspects of demographics, policy, markets. Students should learn how to visualize and interpret information about socioeconomic inequalities, public safety, health, and labor market. |
| Efekty uczenia się: |
1. Knowledge: A student knows: 1.1 stages of statistical representative research. 1.2 classifications of statistical measures, 1.3 variables allowing for comparing socioeconomic development. 2. Skills: Student is able to: 2.1 plan and carry out a multidimensional research on social and economic development; 2.2 calculate appropriate measures for comparing socioeconomic status across time and space; 2.3 interpret values of socioeconomic statistics; 2.4 analyze and interpret charts and maps on socioeconomic issues. 3. Attitudes / Competencies: Student has: 3.1 the ability to choose tools and methods for socioeconomic study; 3.2 the ability to creatively combine statistical knowledge with the information from other fields; 3.3 the ability to interpret and present results of statistical analyses. |

| Metody dydaktyczne: | Classes are conducted in English using the method of problem and conversation lecture, with elements of storytelling, round table discussions, and case studies. The work of students is carried out in the form of uniform individual and diverse group work. |

| Sposoby i kryteria oceniania: | Active participation in stationary or online classes (synchronous through MS Teams) and asynchronous work through the Moodle e-learning platform. Interactive asynchronous activities (quizzes and assignments), as well as an individual case study are the basis for passing. The case study encompasses the analysis and synthesis of information on a socio-economic aspects of a selected country as well as the results are presented in English during classes. Asynchronous activities are used to assess the current work and the degree of achievement of learning outcomes. Asynchronous activities constitute 60% and the case study 40% of the total number of points. In order to pass the classes, it is necessary to obtain more than 50% of the total number of points. Final grade is assigned based on the point gained by the student: [91%,100%] – bdb (A) [81%,90%] – db+ (B) [71%,80%] – db (C) [61%,70%] – dst+ (D) [51%;60%] – dst (E) |
