  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

This course is intended to prepare M.A. students to conduct and present independent research in Economics. The purpose of this seminar is to give students the opportunity to write research papers in the fields of their interests. The professor will share his own research interests in the application of alternative theoretical models studied in the Economics. However, other issues may be covered depending on the research interests of the participating students.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

- The student is familiar with in depth selection of methods and tools for the study and analysis of phenomena and economic relations and financial, forecasting and simulation

- The student has a thorough knowledge of systems, data collection and processing and presentation of economic processes

- The student has an extensive knowledge of the standards and rules of organizing economic and financial systems

- The student has a thorough knowledge of financial and economic terms, and knows methods of their research to understanding the nature of the processes of economic and financial phenomena

- The student knows and understands the basic concepts and principles of the protection of industrial property and copyright and the need for management of intellectual property

Skills:

- The student is able to closely observe and correctly interpret the processes of economic and financial phenomena and the interaction between these processes and phenomena

- The student can use theoretical knowledge to describe and analyze the causes and processes of economic and financial phenomena and can formulate their own opinions and choose critical data and analysis

- The student can properly analyze the causes and processes of economic and financial developments, formulate their own opinions on the subject and put simple hypotheses and verify them

- The student is able to predict complex processes of economic and financial phenomena using appropriate methods, techniques and tools of statistical and econometric

- The student effectively uses the normative systems, standards and rules in order to solve specific problems

- The student has the ability to understand and analyze processes of economic and financial phenomena and their assessment on the basis of in-depth theoretical knowledge using appropriately chosen test method

- The student has the ability to understand and analyze the relationship between phenomena and assessing the social and economic consequences of these relationships using test method

- The student has deepened ability to prepare papers in Polish and in Congress

Competence:

- The student is aware of the level of their knowledge and skills, understands the necessity of lifelong learning and personal development and to acquire and expand knowledge and skills in various fields of science

- The student is able to interact and work in a group, taking in her various roles, is open to cooperation and building relationships, can resolve conflicts

- The student can properly define the priorities for implementation specified by you or other tasks consistently seeks to achieve individual and team actions

- The student is able to independently and critically complement the knowledge and skills in their field and interdisciplinary dimension

Balance of student’s own working time covers: 90 hours in semester 1, 120 hours in semester 2 and 180 hours in semester 3.
